This Privacy Policy explains how Project Proof, developed by Donncha O’Toole, handles information in the Project Proof iOS app and this website.

Summary

Information stored on your device

When you use the app, it can store your goal choices, ritual state, affirmations, actions, Proof statuses, optional reflections, selected photos, local voice notes, reminder preferences, widget payloads and purchase state in the app’s protected local storage. The widget receives only the privacy-filtered content needed to render the widget. The app does not upload this material in the launch build.

Photos, microphone and notifications

Photo and microphone access is optional. A photo or voice note is copied locally only after you choose it. If you export or share a Proof Reel, iOS presents the destination and you control the share. Notifications are optional and can be declined, paused or changed in iOS Settings. The app remains usable without them.

AI and generation

The launch build uses bundled curated content and an on-device fallback. No third-party AI provider is configured. If a future version introduces a provider, it will identify the provider, purpose, data fields, retention terms and user control before any selected goal details are sent, and will require a separate explicit permission. General acceptance of these documents will not be treated as that permission.

Purchases

Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple may process transaction and payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. Project Proof uses StoreKit to verify the product entitlement on the device. For billing, refunds or subscription cancellation, use Apple’s purchase support and subscription settings.

Sharing and third parties

Project Proof does not sell your personal information. The launch build does not include advertising or a third-party analytics SDK. The app may use Apple system frameworks such as StoreKit, WidgetKit, Photos and AVFoundation to provide features on your device. Apple’s handling of information in those services is governed by Apple’s policies.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until you delete them, remove the app or use the in-app deletion control. Settings provides local export and deletion. Deletion removes the app’s saved state, Proof entries, local media, exports and cached Reels from the app’s storage. App Store purchase records remain with Apple and are managed through Apple.

Your choices

You can decline Photos, microphone and notifications; turn anonymous in-app event measurement on or off in Settings; export your local records; or delete them from Settings. The app does not use a web-based advertising or tracking profile.

Children

Project Proof is not directed to children under 13. Do not use it as a substitute for a parent, carer, clinician, emergency service or other qualified support.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app’s data handling changes. The effective date above shows the current version. Questions about privacy can be sent to dnncha@gmail.com.
